Will of John Modson from Newfoundland will books volume 14 page 103 probate year 1927

In re
      JOHN MODSON.       DECEASED.

I JOHN MODSON Clerk in Holy Orders LL.D. of Upper Pittville Lawn Cheltenham in the County of Gloucester do make and declare this to be my last Will and Testament. I appoint my wife Eliza Denham Modson Sir George Vaster K.C. Hildon Park Rathgar Dublin and my two sons Walter and Ronald (hereinafter called by trustees) to be the executors and trustees of this my Will. I bequeath to my wife during her life the use of all my furniture silver and plated ware household goods chattels effects and things whatsoever (except money and securities for money) which shall be in and upon my dwelling house and premises at the time of my death.
I bequeath ten pounds (10) to each of my trustees. I bequeath all my real estate and also all my personal estate not hereby otherwise disposed of unto my trustees upon trust to permit the same or any part or parts thereof to remain unconverted or in the state of investment in which it shall be at the time of my death for so long as my trustees in their discretion think fit and subject thereto upon trust to sell call in and convert into money the same or such part thereof as shall not consist of money and shall with and out of the monies produced by such sale calling in and conversion and with and out of the monies produced by such sale calling in and conversionWFL and with and out of my ready money pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and shall invest the residue of the said monies in such investments as they in their discretion think fit with power to my trustees from time to time to vary investments as they think fit and shall stand possessed of all the said trust property and monies and the investments for the time being representing the same in trust to pay the income thereof to my wife during her life or widowhood and from and after her decease or second marriage on trust to divide the said trust property and monies in equal shares share and share alike between my seven children Walter Harold Ronald Ethel Vernon St. John and Denham.

Signed published and declared by the testator as and for his last Will and testament in the presence of us both present at the same time who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
