The last Will and Testament of
George W. Mews late of St. John's
Secretary of Public Works
This is the last will and Testament of me George
W. Mews of St. John's Secretary of Public Works
First I
devise and bequeath the leasehold dwelling house and land situate on Spencer
Street (No 5) to my daughter Gertrude Isabel for her sole and separate use.
Second I
give and bequeath my Gold watch to my son Arthur for life and after his death
to his son engaged in Sunday school work
Third My
books I bequeath to my son Arthur to be by him distributed in accordance with
a private note signed by me and which I have given to him.
Fourth
all the rest residue and remainder of my property lands goods chattels money
and effects whatsoever (after payment of my debts and funeral and testamentary
expenses) I give devise and bequeath to my dear wife absolutely.
I
appoint my sons Arthur, William James, and Frederick Ashton to
be the executors of this my will witness my hand at St. John's aforesaid this
23rd day of May A.D. one thousand nine hundred and two. Geo.
W. Mews. Declared
Published and declared by the above named George W. Mews as his last will and
testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of
each other (all being present at the same time) have hereunto subscribed our
names as witnesses Alexander W. Mews Sarah Boyd.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct
copy of the will of George W. Mews.
