Last will and Testament of
Jesse Mercer of Bonne Bay S.D.
School Teacher deceased

      The last will of me Jesse Mercer of Bonne Bay, Colony of Newfoundland, being of sound mind at the time of making and publishing this my last will and Testament. I give and devise all my estate real and personal whereof I may die seized or possessed to my wife Frances Fraser to dispose of as she may wish. All money in the Saving Bank at St. John’s Newfoundland. She is to draw and to give one hundred dollars to my mother (Fanny Mercer) the remainder to be equally divided amongst my four brothers and sister viz:- Isaac, John, Eugene, Thomas and Annie Maria. My insurance policy with dividends I give and bequeath to my wife Frances Fraser for her sole use and behoof for ever. Also the amount accruing to me from the school pension Fund of Newfoundland I also bequeath to my wife Frances Fraser.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of March in the year 1898. (Sgd) Jesse Mercer (LS) Signed Sealed published and declared by Jesse Mercer the testator above named as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us, who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other, have hereunto set our names as witnesses. - witnesses (sgd) John P. Haliburton. (Sgd) Stephen Taylor.

      I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Jesse Mercer deceased
