Will of Isaac Mercer In the name of God Amen. I, Isaac Mercer, of Bay Roberts, Conception Bay in the Island of Newfoundland and of being of sound and disposing memory mind and understanding but considering the uncertainty of life do this eighteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight make this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say, I give and bequeath to my wife, Mary Mercer, all that piece or parcel of land situated in Bay Roberts aforesaid bounded on the east of the property of Jonathan Mercer and on the front by the property of Lot Snow extending on the south to the sea and bounded on the north by marshland with the dwelling house, outhouses, flakes and store and everything thereon. To be held by her as long as she remains unmarrried but on her marrying again or at her decease I will and direct the said piece of land together with the dwelling house, outhouses to the rear to become the property of my son, Isaac Mercer, his heirs and assigns forever. My sons, Samuel and William Mercer, in the meantime, having free use of the store, cellar and waterside frontage. The other parcel of land, my property in the rear of the dwelling house, and measuring six acres according to the grant, I will and bequeath to my sons, Samuel, William and Isaac, and to my son-in-law, George Snow, retaining all that they now hold, William to have the remainder of the cleared land, Samuel and Isaac the uncleared land, William's portion to be held by his mother, my wife, Mary, until she marries again. All the rest of the moveable property as cattle, furniture, etc., I give and bequeath to my wife, Mary Mercer. And nominate and appoint Mr. Isaac Mercer and Mr. John Beasent, my executors of this my Last Will and Testament and I hereby revoke all former and other wills by me made and do declare this to be my Last Will and Testament. I hereby certify that the execution of the Will of Isaac Mercer by the Testator party thereto appears by the affidavits so endorsed hereon by the Reverend Martin Blackmore, one of the unsubscribing witnesses thereto sworned before W.S. Green, Commissioner of Affidavits, on the third day of December, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight, the said was deposited at my office on the seventh day of December of this year and is hereby in due course actually registered by me this day.
