Will of Elizabeth Mercer from Newfoundland will books volume 14 pages 368-369 probate year 1928 In re DECEASED. I, Elizabeth Mercer of St. John's Newfoundland, widow hereby make and publish
my last will and testament and revoke all former wills by me made. I appoint
and nominate Staff Captain Rhoda Lacey Sainsbury sole executrix of this my
last will. I first direct that all my estate of every description and wheresoever
situate be sold and I further direct that out of the proceeds my executor pay
the sum of one hundred dollars to "The Cook Street Anchorage" as a bequest
first having paid all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and erected
a headstone to my memory The residue of my said estate I give and bequeath
to my children living at the time of my death in equal shares. In witness whereof
I have hereunto subscribed my hand to this my last will at St. John's aforesaid
this 17th day of November 1927 by making my mark this having been first read
over and explained to me
Signed by the testatrix as and for a codicil to her last will the said codicil
being first read over and explained to her who appeared to understand the same
perfectly in our presence who in her presence and in the presence of each other
have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. CORRECT (Listed in the margin next to this will the following)
