Will of Elizabeth McLeod from Newfoundland will books volume 14 pages 519-520 probate year 1929

I, Elizabeth McLeod of Carbonear in the district of Carbonear Newfoundland widow, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make my last will and testament in manner and form as following:
First. I give devise and bequeath to the Right Rev Monsignor McCarthy Parish Priest of Carbonear (or should he be removed to, his Successor) the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00) for to have two high and offices and ten Requiem Masses for the repose of my husband (John McLeod) and my own soul, also fifty low Masses for the deceased members of my family viz; Parents, Brothers, and sisters.
Secondly. I give devise and bequeath to the Rev William Cullen Parish Priest of Gambo the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) for to have fifty low masses for the repose of my husband (John McLeod) and my own soul.
Thirdly. I give devise and bequeath to Patrick Cullen and his wife Mary, the sum of three hundred dollars ($300.00) be it understood that a part of this amount is to pay for my funeral expenses and a headstone as near as possible to the headstone that I erected for my husband.
Fourthly. I give devise and bequeath to the above said Patrick Cullen and his wife Mary, any further money or value that I may have or own at the time of my death.
I hereby appoint Patrick Cullen executor of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I Elizabeth McLeod the testatrix have to this my last will and testament set my hand this fifteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twenty five.

Signed Sealed published and declared by the above named Elizabeth McLeod as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us, who have hereunto subscribed our names at her request as witnesses thereto, in presence of the said testatrix and of each other.

Codicil to my will
Whereas I Elizabeth McLeod did on the fifteenth day of December one thousand nine hundred and twenty five make my last will and testament, I do now by this writing add this codicil to my said will to be taken as part thereof.
In the third paragraph of my will instead of three hundred dollars that I devise and bequeath to Patrick Cullen and his wife Mary I now add one hundred dollars ($100.00) to that amount. MAKING A total of four hundred dollars ($400.00)
In the fourth paragraph of my will instead of devising and bequeathing any further money that I may owned at the time of my death to PATRICK CULLEN and his wife Mary I now do leave devise and bequeath to the Right Revd Monsignor McCarthy Parish Priest of Carbonear or his Successor any further money that I may have at the time of my death to have Masses for the repose of my husband my own soul and for the deceased members of my family namely - My father, mother, brothers and sisters.
In witness whereof I Elizabeth McLeod the testatrix have to this Codicil as a part of my last will and testament set my hand this twenty third day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twenty eight
