Walter was the son of Austin Martin and Rosannah Bragg. I finally resolved the provenance of Austin Martin yesterday. I knew that he was from Harbour Grace but did not know his family tie. He is part of the Martin line who came in from Guernsey circa 1730 via Trinity.

Austin was actually christened as Jonathan Austin Martin.

Jonathan Austin son of Jonathan & Juliana Martin Harbour Grace b. 18 Jun 1846 bap. 25 Jul 1846

I assume this is a child of Jonathan and Julia. GM 2004

Today after a call to Elizabeth Publicover in Sackville, NS it has been proved that Austin Martin was Jonathan Austin Martin. GM 27 Jan 2010
