Will of Titus William Manuel
from Newfoundland will books volume 10 pages 355-356 probate year 1915
(According to this will it was written in 1980, which is obviously an error, probably by the clerk typist of the Supreme Court at the time of probate. The will was likely written in 1880.)

In re
      TITUS WILLIAM MANUEL       deceased.

      Know all men by these presents that I Titus William Manuel of Twillingate, North Island, District of Twillingate, and Island of Newfoundland, Carpenter and Joiner, being in good health and of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament, revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made And as my worldly estate, and all the property, real, personal or mixed of which I shall die seized and possessed or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, I devise, bequeath and dispose thereof in the manner following, to wit:-
      First, My will is that all my just debts, funeral expenses, and headstone erected, shall, by my executors hereinafter named be paid out of my estate as soon after my decease, as shall by them be found convenient
      Item, I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Eliza Manuel all my household furniture and all other effects.    I also give to her all monies that may be in my possession in the house, Banks, invested and out on loan to have and to hold the same together with all profits and income thereof, to her the said Mary Eliza Manuel, her heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, to her and their use and benefit forever.    It is also my wish and desire that my wife shall reside in the dwelling house now occupied by me and it shall be her home as long as she may choose to reside there, or to reside the remainder of her natural life.
      I give, devise and bequeath to my son, Alfred Edward Manuel all my stock of carpenters and Joiners tools and implements of trade, I also give devise and bequeath to him the said Alfred Edward Manuel, all my waterside premises, land, dwelling house, carpenters shop; stable and all other outhouses thereon situate at the eastern side of the road to have and to hold the same to the said Alfred Edward Manuel, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, to his and their use and benefit forever.    I also give devise and bequeath to the said Alfred Edward Manuel, the garden on the hill in front harbor and known as front harbor garden, to have and to hold the same to the said Alfred Edward Manuel his heirs executors, administrators and assigns to him and their use and benefit forever.
      I give devise and bequeath to my two sons Alfred Edward Manuel and Arthur Manuel the property purchased from Crossly Loyal Orange Lodge No. 30 of the Loyal Orange Association, to be divided equally between them, at any time they may deem fit to make such separation- to have and to hold the same equal part of said land to the said Alfred Edward Manuel and Arthur Manuel their heirs, successors, executors, administrators and assigns to them and their use and benefit forever.    I give devise and bequeath to my son Arthur Manuel, all that piece or parcel of ground situate at Snellings Cove, North Island, Twillingate aforesaid, to have and to hold the same to the said Arthur Manuel his heirs executors, administrators and assigns to him and their use and benefit forever.
      I give, devise and bequeath to my grandson Frank Morine Manuel son of my son Arthur Manuel, my sword, silver watch and chain to have and to hold the same to the said Frank Morine Manuel to his use and benefit forever      All the rest and residue of my estate, real and personal and mixed of which I shall die seized and possessed, or to which I shall be entitled at my decease I give, devise and bequeath to my son Alfred Edward Manuel to have and to hold the same to the said Alfred Edward Manuel his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns to him, and their use and benefit forever    And lastly I do nominate my two sons Alfred Edward Manuel, and Arthur Manuel, to be the executors of this my last will and testament    In testimony whereof I the said Titus William Manuel have to this my last will and testament subscribed my name and affixed my seal this 17th day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighty    Titus W. Manuel (LS)     Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Titus William Manuel as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us, who at his request and in his presence, and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto Frederick Linfield     Charles D. Mayne
