In re Willie Green Maidment       deceased

This is the last will of me, Willie Green Maidment, 39 Parade Street, St. John's Newfoundland. All my personal belongings and property, including land, house, value of my Insurance Policy, etc. I hereby will to my wife, Hilda Katie, as long as she remains my widow, on her re-marriage or death, the said belongings, property, etc., mentioned above is to go to my son Harry Robert. And I hereby appoint Edmund Maidment executor of this my will, and I revoke all former Wills. Dated this sixteenth day of January, nineteen hundred and twenty. Willie G. Maidment. Signed by the testator in the presence of us, both present at the same time who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto set our names as witnesses. Witness. Charles Giles.   Daisy Maud Burden.

Note: The wills in those will books are NOT actual wills. They are hand-written copies of a, "last will and testament," written by the court clerk, after the death of the testator, when the executor presented them to the court for probate. The court clerk didn't list the signatures at the bottom, he (or she) just put them in the book in whatever order they were in, on the original document, no spacing most of the time, no punctuation. The originals were kept by the executor.

We who have typed these wills, have made every effort to include all the errors that were on the microfilm, in order to avoid destroying the integrity of the originals, where ever they may be.
