AARON MAHER

Last Will and Testament of Aaron Maher

          I, Aaron Maher of Holyrood in the electoral district of Harbour Main in the Island of Newfoundland, farmer, hereby revoke all former wills and codicils made by me and declare this to be my last will and testament. I appoint John S. Currie of St John's, Newspaper Editor, to be executor and trustee of this my will.
I give, devise and bequeath all my property real and personal (except money and the proceeds of my policy of Life Insurance) to my wife Blanche as long as she shall live or remain unmarried, but in the event of her death or remarriage it shall become the property of my daughter, Anne, absolutely. I give to my wife Blanche all my money (except the proceeds of my policy of Life Insurance) she is to pay my funeral, testamentary and other expenses and debts from this money, if it prove sufficient and retain the balance to be hers absolutely.
I give to my trustee, the said John S. Currie the proceeds of my Policy of Life Insurance to hold the same in trust for my wife Blanche and my daughter Anne. My said trustee will invest the amount of the proceeds of said policy for the benefit of my said wife and my said daughter Anne but I leave to his discretion the nature of the investment, the amount of the principal to be paid from time to time to my said wife and my said daughter Anne and the length of time during which this money is to remain invested. Is If any amount of the principal should remain at the expiration of twenty years from the date of my death, such amount shall be paid to my daughter Anne to be hers absolutely. It is my wish to have the interest paid annually to my said wife and my said daughter Anne.
I hereby direct my executor to sell my land situate on Salmonier Road, if a satisfactory price can be obtained, and give the proceeds to my wife Blanche to be hers absolutely. I also direct my executor to sell my property situate on Witless Bay Line and known as Brown Marsh, if a satisfactory price can be obtained, and give the proceeds to my wife Blanche to be hers absolutely.
All the rest and residue of my estate of every kind and in every place whatsoever I give to my wife Blanche to be hers absolutely.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 25th day of June A.D. 1930.

Signed by the above named Aaron Maher (having been first read over and explained) as his last will in the joint presence of himself and me, who at his request and in such joint presence have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
