Will of Bridget Long In re In the name of God. Amen, I, Bridget Long of Topsail Road near St. John’s, Widow, make this my last will and testament. First I direct my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to be paid and thereafter I give devise and bequeath all lands, goods, chattels, and property of every kind and description of which I may die possessed unto my niece Margaret Connolly and her husband Thomas Connolly to their sole and separate use. The share of my niece to be held by her independently of the control of her said husband. I appoint P. J. Scott, of St. John’s, Queen’s Counsel to be my Executor. Dated at Topsail Road aforesaid this 2nd day of December Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and Eighty nine.
Signed and declared as and for her last will and testament by said Bridget Long, in presence of us, who in presence of each other and of the testatrix and at her request sign as attesting witnesses (having been first read over & explained) P. J. Scott. Michael J. Feehan. In case the half of the land on North Side of Road be sold I agree to give first chance to Mr Michael Feehan, and if such land be not sold by me during my lifetime I trust my Executor will act similarly.
