Last will and Testament
of Edward Leonard
of St. Kyran's Fisherman Deceased

I Edward Leonard of the Parish of St. Kyran's Placentia Bay Newfoundland being of sound mind do hereby declare this my last will and testament thereby revoking all other previous wills:- 1st To my brother Patrick Leonard of Francis Cove, Isle Valen, I bequeath the sum of one hundred and twenty dollars ($120.00) 2nd. To my god-child Patrick Leonard son of John Leonard of Francis Cove my late brother I bequeath the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) 3rd. I leave to Jane Leonard, relict of the late John Leonard, Francis Cove Isle Valen one hundred and sixty dollars ($160.00) to be equally distributed amongst her male children exclusive of my god-child above named. 4th. I remit four hundred dollars ($400.00) of the amt. due me by the parish church of St. Kyran's the other four hundred dollars to be divided as follows - Two hundred dollars (200.00) for masses for repose of my own soul & the remaining two hundred dollars ($200.00) for the purchase of a Benediction Service for the parish church St. Kyran's 5th. I leave for the purpose of having celebrated for the repose of my soul - High Mass & offices the sum of one hundred and sixty dollars - ($160.00) these to be said in Cathedral St. John's. 6th I bequeath to my beloved wife all the residue of my monies, landed & floating property my boats nets & anything of which I die possessed to be disposed as she herself deems fittest except that fifty dollars ($50.00) be given from the monies towards the support of the orphans at Villa Nova Orphanage. 7th I appoint my beloved wife sole and only executrix of this my last will and testament Signed Edward his x mark Leonard witnesses Neil McKendrick. Frances her x mark Mae Hugh. W. P. Doutney.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Edward Leonard.
