Last Will and Testament of
Isaac LeDrew of Kelligrews
Farmer deceased.

       In the name of God Amen I Isaac LeDrew of Cupids Conception Bay Newfoundland but now living in Kelligrews South Shore Conception Bay Newfoundland Fisherman and Farmer, being in perfect health and perfect in mind and memory and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament. In the first place I give and bequeath to my two sons William & Abram LeDrew all my fishing room viz: stage, wharf, flake and the beach that is between Robert Tilley's stage & my own. My son William is to have the East part joining the said Robert Tilly and my son Abram the west part joining my stage, my son William is to have the last part of my flake when it is divided.
The place called the Dock between Nicholas Daw's stage and my own (half of which I own) is not to be built upon but left as a place to haul up the fishing boats.
To my son Abram I give and bequeath the waterside store.
The waste piece of meadow on the west side of the waterside road I give and bequeath to my sons William and Abram which is to be divided in to two parts my son William is to have the north part & my son Abram the south part.
To my son Abram I give and bequeath the East waterside meadow for his sole use and benefit bounded on the north by the rail track east by Tilleys waterside road south by widow Rebecca Daws land & my own premises & west by waterside road.
To my son William I give and bequeath the whole of the land and meadow that he has under fence for his sole use and benefit bounded as follows south by the main road leading to Holyrood, west by Nicholas Daw's land north by wood land, north east by Nicholas Daw's land and East by the Road leading to the waterside.
My inside piece of land I have on LeDrew's road measuring 20 acres I give and bequeath to my two sons William and Abram to be divided equally between them my son William to have the inside or south part and my son Abram is to have the outside or north part. The timber that is on the said piece of land my sons are to divide with each other for fencing. My son Abram is to clear as much land and remove the stones off as he takes from his brother William when the land is divided.
To my wife I give and bequeath that piece of land to the south of Kelligrew's pond, bounded as follows. East by Mrs. Simmon's land, north west by branch road south west by Abram Daw's land & south by John Joy's land.
I give and bequeath my old land up the pond to my two sons William and Abram to be divided between them my son William is to have a little more of the land than his brother Abram owing to his having bought a part of it from the late John Warren of Kelligrews. My son Abram is to take the south part measuring from a rock on the north end and go south a distance of 152 yards, bounded on the south by my waste land west by the river, north by the land I am giving my son William and East by widow Rebecca Daw's land. My son William's piece that I am giving him is bounded as follows. South by the land I am giving his brother Abram west by the river north by John Walsh's land & East by the branch road
Also I give and bequeath to my two sons William & Abram my new piece of uncultivated land situated to the south of Kelligrew's pond and also to the south of my cultivated land which piece is to be equally divided between them, the said piece is bounded as follows south by waste land, west by the river, north by my own cultivated land & south east by waste land.
My wife is to enjoy the property that is if she should become badly off to get her support off of the land.
To my grandson Isaac Ledrew son of William I give and bequeath my watch & chain also a feather bed and bedding.
To my grandson Alfred Ledrew son of Abram I give and bequeath my part of the house that I occupy which he is to take possession of when he comes of age that is 21 years old.
After my death and the death of my wife what cattle that I owned is to be equally divided between my two sons William & Abram. Also what clothes I possess at my death is to be equally divided between my two sons William and Abram.
After the death of myself and wife my son Abram is to take possession of the stable, cellar & store. My iron plough is for the use of the two brothers William & Abram. It is my wish that my two sons keep up the flake and the waterside premises in repair.
And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments wills & bequests by me in any wise before named willed & bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty six.
