The last Will and Testament
of Robert Leamon of Brigus
.

The last Will and Testament of Robert Leamon of Brigus Conception Bay in the Island of Newfoundland. I Robert Leamon considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say.
First I give devise and bequeath unto my sister Mary wife of Capt William Bartlett for and during the period of her natural life all my just and lawful proportion part or share of and in the Dwelling house land premises and property situate in Brigus aforesaid and now occupied and possessed by me and my mother to be held in trust by my said sister Mary Bartlett during her life time and after her death to become the property of her at present youngest son William Stewart Bartlett and his heirs for ever -
Secondly I give devise and bequeath unto my nephew Robert Abraham Bartlett eldest son of my said sister and to his legitimate heirs all my just and lawful proportion part or share of and in the farm and lands known as "Richmond Hill" and of and in the dwelling house barns and other erections thereon standing situate at what is called the Gulleys near Brigus aforesaid to be held in trust for him my said nephew Robert Bartlett by my said sister Mary Bartlett until he has attained legal age.
Thirdly. It is my will that in case either or both of my said nephews William Stewart Bartlett and Robert Abraham Bartlett should die before coming of legal age or should leave no lawful issue then the property or properties of such deceased nephew or nephews as the case may be shall be divided between their surviving sisters the daughters of said sister Mary Bartlett.
Fourthly - All the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate goods chattels and property of what kind or nature soever the same may be or in whose hands soever the same may be found of which I shall die possessed or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease. I give devise and bequeath to my said sister Mary Bartlett during her natural life and to her children divided as she may think proper after her decease.
And lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my said sister Mary Bartlett and her husband Captain William Bartlett to be the executrix and executor jointly of this my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said Robert Leamon have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set this twenty fifth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty six. The foregoing instrument of two pages was now here signed and sealed by the Testator Robert Leamon in the presence of each of us and was at the same time declared by him to be his last will and Testament and we at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other sign our names as witnesses thereto. Codicil to the above. I Robert Leamon do make and declare this to be a codicil to my last will which will was made by me on the 25th day of May Anno Domini 1886 And whereas I have in and by my said will given and bequeathed to my nephew William Stewart Bartlett lately deceased all my part and share of a certain dwelling house and property therein specified and described and whereas since the date of my said will he my said nephew William S. Bartlett has died now I do by this codicil give and bequeath my said share or part of the said dwelling house and property to my nephew Robert Abraham Bartlett and his heirs after the death of my said sister Mary Bartlett the same as before mentioned in my will. And I do also hereby give and bequeath to my niece Hilda Bartlett my silver Tea service for her own absolute use and benefit for ever.
And in all other respects I do hereby confirm my foregoing will.
