In re the estate of
      David Lauther       deceased

I David Lauther being of sound mind though ill in health in the name of God Amen, maketh this my last will. From the amount now to my credit in the Bank of Montreal, St. John's, I desire the sum of forty dollars to be expended for masses for the repose of the soul of my mother Ellen Lauther, and forty dollars expended for masses for the repose of the soul of my father James Lauther, and forty dollars expended for masses for the repose of the soul of my wife Mary Lauther and forty dollars expend for masses for the repose of the soul of my son Michael lauther and forty dollars expended for masses for the repose of my own soul. The said sums for masses to be given to following priest of the Catholic Church in proportions named. Rev. Richard Sheen. Coachmans Cove, eighty dollars. Rev. Francis Walsh, Brigus, forty dollars. Rev. John Scully C.C. Brigus, forty dollars and to His Lordship the Bishop of Hr. Grace forty dollars.
I bequeath to Amelia Callahan the sum of two hundred dollars.
I bequeath to my daughter Mary Bolt the sum of two hundred dollars
I bequeath to my daughter Margaret known in Religion as Sister Mary Michael of the Order of St. Joseph's now residing in St. Catherine's Convent Miami Florida two hundred dollars.
I bequeath the sum of twenty dollars to His Lordship the Bishop of the Northern Diocese of Newfoundland to be held in trust towards the erection of a new Catholic Church at Little Bay
I desire two headstones to be purchased and erected one for my wife Mary Lauther and one for myself to cost twenty-six dollars each
The foregoing desires being fulfilled and bequests made I bequeath the balance then lying to my credit in the said Bank of Montreal to my son James Lauther, but the said balance is to remain in the Bank at interest for at least ten years from date of payment of bequests before being drawn. My land and appurtenances thereon situated at Mosquito Conception Bay I also bequeath to my son James Lauther. After my death I desire my interest in and to the house which I now occupy and to the garden attached thereto and also to the gardens situated below the house, on the beach, to be sold as also my personal effects consisting of clothing furniture etc. except my own bed and bedding which I bequeath to my son James Lauther and the bed and bedding now used by my housekeeper Amelia Callahan which I bequeath to her and the money realized from the sale of these effects shall be given for masses in equal proportions for my father mother wife son and self as before named.
I hereby appointed Mr. Patrick Burke and Mr. Richard D. Walsh both of Little Bay to act as my executors of this will David Lauther.

I add the following codicil to my will
1^st the bequest to Amelia Callahan I cancel and the sum intended for her I give to my son James Lauther who is to undertake to support and clothe her while she lives and to bury her when dead.
2. The paragraph ordering my interest in house at Little Bay and personal effects to be sold I also cancel and bequeath same to my son James Lauther and my housekeeper Amelia Callahan for their use. After my death my executors are to take charge of whatever money there is in the house and pay any outstanding debts contracted by me that may at that time be unpaid. They shall see my funeral expenses paid. And shall hand the sum of forty dollars to the Reverend John Lynch to be applied for masses for the repose of my soul. The balance if any they shall pay to my son James Lauther for his use and benefit
David Lauther signed at Little Bay this 4^th day Nov A.D. 1905 in presence of John Delaney     James R. Bugan.

I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and testament of David Lauther with one codicil
