Last will and Testament
of Henry King
of St. John's Fish-culler Deceased.

This is the last will and testament of me Henry King of Nunnery Hill Prescott Street Saint John's Newfoundland, carpenter and culler of fish made this fourth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy three. Being not very strong in body but sound in mind, I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah King all my household goods and effects and all my money or monies with interest which I have or then may have at my decease deposited in the Savings Bank or Banks and which may be held by any person or persons for me under any kind of security except what shall hereafter be mentioned which I will and bequeath to my children hereinafter mentioned out of my aforesaid estate and effects. My said wife Sarah King to enjoy and have for her use my said estate and effects during her lifetime or her widowhood and at her decease or the termination of her widowhood, I will and bequeath to my son Solomon King now or who has been second mate on the "Isabella" in the employ or owned by Nepis Job Brothers, St. John's Nfld. whatever remains of my said estate and effects except my watch and chain which I will and bequeath to my grandson Orlander Peter Higgins at my said wife Sarah King's decease or termination of her widowhood. Out of the aforesaid estate and effects I will at my decease to my daughter Tryphena Higgins one arm chair bought by her mother the late Vera King and I will to my son Moses King my own large bible and one feather bed and to my son John Archibald King five pounds currency. My daughter Tryphena Higgins and my son Moses King and my son John Archibald King to receive their legacies one calendar month after my decease. And I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my said wife Sarah King my sole executrix. Hereby revoking and making void all former and other will and wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said Henry King have to this my will set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year herebefore written. Henry his x mark King (L.S.) Signed sealed published and declared by the said testator Henry King as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and testament of Henry King.
