Will of William Kenny

In re
      William Kenny          deceased.

      In the name of God, Amen. This is the last will and Testament of me, William Kenny, of St. John’s, in the Island of Newfoundland, Draper. I hereby revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions that may have been hitherto by me made. I hereby appoint my cousin, Margaret Colford, to be the executrix of this my last will and testament.
1. I desire that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses first be paid.
2 I give, devise and bequeath the proceeds of my Life Insurance Policy in the Canada Life as follows:-

  • (a). To my cousin, Margaret Colford, the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00)
  • (b). To my friend, Patrick Long, Walsh’s Lane, the sum of Twenty dollars, ($20.00).
  • ( c). To the Rev. Father MacDonnell for Masses for the repose of my soul, the sum of Fifty dollars. ($50.00).
  • (d). To my father, William Kenny, the balance.

3. I give, devise and bequeath to my father William Kenny, the freehold property belonging to me, and situated at No. 101 Hamilton Street, in the town of St. John’s aforesaid.
4 I give, devise and bequeath to my cousin, Margaret Colford, the leasehold property belonging to me, situated on the south side of Long’s Hill in the City of St. John’s aforesaid, and known as Nos. 91 and 93.
5. I give, devise and bequeath to my cousin, Margaret Colford, my shares to the number of Thirteen (13) in the Colonial Investment and Loan Company of Toronto Ontario
6. The residue of my personal estate that may not be hereby accounted for, after the payment of my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, I give, devise and bequeath to my father William Kenny. In witness whereof I have this day set my hand and seal the 9th day of January A.D. 1913. William Kenny (LS) - Signed by the said Testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us, who in his presence, and at his request, and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses:- M. Frank Summers    John T. Angel.
