Will of Margaret Kennedy
from Newfoundland will books volume 10 page 438 probate year 1916

In re
     MARGARET KENNEDY       deceased.

This is the last will and testament of me Margaret Kennedy of Saint John's in the Island of Newfoundland Widow. 1. I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Morey of Saint John's Spinster all my property estate and effects of every description. 2. I appoint the said Elizabeth Morey sole executrix of this my will- Witness my hand at Saint John's aforesaid this fifth day of February A.D. 1897. Margaret X (her mark) Kennedy Signed published and declared by the said testatrix as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us who in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other (all present at the same time) have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses (the same having been first read over and explained to the said testatrix and approved of by her) Margaret Norman.     W. Note: The wills in those will books are NOT actual wills. They are hand-written copies of a, "last will and testament," written by the court clerk, after the death of the testator, when the executor presented them to the court for probate. The court clerk didn't list the signatures at the bottom, he (or she) just put them in the book in whatever order they were in, on the original document, no spacing most of the time, no punctuation. The originals were kept by the executor.

We who have typed these wills, have made every effort to include all the errors that were on the microfilm, in order to avoid destroying the integrity of the originals, where ever they may be.
