Last will and testament
of Bridget Keating
of St. John's widow Deceased
.

This is the last will and testament of me Bridget Keating of Saint John's wife of Thomas Keating made with his consent as expressed by him subscribing himself as witness hereto I revoke all former wills and codicils by me at any time heretofore made I give and bequeath to my executor hereinafter named all my lands chattels goods debts and effects whatsoever and wheresoever situate that I may die possessed of upon the following trusts to first pay and discharge all my debts testamentary and funeral expenses. Secondly. To permit my said husband to occupy and enjoy the dwelling house and shop situate on Military Road and at present occupied by me, or if my said husband should think fit to lease the same from time to time, for the term of his natural life. In the event of my said husband electing to lease the premises it is my desire that my son John Keating shall have the option of taking the same and after the decease of my said husband I give and bequeath the said dwelling house and premises with the appurtenances unto my said son John Keating forever. I give and bequeath unto my said husband during the term of his natural life my household furniture and shop stock also the use of the sum of money standing to my credit in the Newfoundland Savings Bank. After the decease of my said husband I give and bequeath absolutely all the rest residue and remainder of my said estate to my said son John Keating. I appoint Bryan Mitchell of Saint John's dealer sole executor of this my last will. Witness my hand this thirteenth day of November A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty five Bridget her x mark Keating. Signed published and declared by the said testatrix as and for her last will and testament in our presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our hands as witnesses it having been first carefully read over and explained. I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the will of Bridget Keating.
