Will of Rev. George Marcus Johnson

Last Will of the Rev. George M. Johnson
late of Thurgarton in the County of Norfolk, England,
Clerk in Holy Orders, deceased.

      This is the last will and testament of me George Marcus Johnson, of Thurgarton, in the County of Norfolk, England, Clerk in Holy Orders, and I hereby revoke all former wills by me made.
1. If both my wife and daughter survive me, the sum of sixty pounds sterling shall be annually paid by my executors to my daughter during her unmarried life, and on her marriage or death the said sum shall be annually paid to my wife during her life: but if the husband of my daughter predecease her the said sum shall revert to my daughter for her life.
2. If both my wife and daughter survive me, all the annual proceeds of my estate shall on the death or marriage of my wife go to my daughter for her life, but if she shall marry after the death of my wife, the whole of my estate shall on such marriage be equally divided between my said daughter and my sons or son then surviving
3. If my wife and not my daughter survive me, all the annual proceeds of my estate shall go to my wife for her life and on her death my estate shall be equally divided between my sons then surviving. If my daughter and not my wife survive me, all the annual proceeds of my estate shall go to my daughter for her unmarried life and on her marriage the said estate shall be equally divided between my sons then surviving and her my said daughter and if my daughter die unmarried the said estate shall go to my sons or son surviving at her decease.
4. The bequests herein made for the benefit of my wife or daughter are for their sole and separate use.
5. Notwithstanding and without revocation of the above bequests I hope that so long as my wife and daughter live unmarried, they will continue to live together and apply the annual income as well of my estate as of my said wife's separate estate to their joint support and benefit.
6. I appoint my said wife and my two sons executors of this my will.
Dated at Aylsham in the County of Norfolk this fourteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety nine George M. Johnson. Signed published and declared by the said Testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us the subscribers who in the presence of the testator and of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as such witnesses on the date last above written.
