Will of Alexander Jack from Newfoundland will books volume 5 page 491 probate year 1890 Last will and Testament This is the last will and testament of me Alexander Jack at present of Saint John's in the island of Newfoundland draper made this twelfth day of September Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and ninety. First I devise and bequeath to my father Robert Jack residing in Scotland the sum of ten pounds sterling to be paid him by my executor annually during his life. Also all my wearing apparel of every description whatsoever also three pairs of curling stones. Second I devise and bequeath to my sister Margaret Jack residing in Scotland the sum of ten pounds sterling to be paid her by my executor annually during her life also to my said sister I devise and bequeath my gold watch. It is my wish that the above mentioned bequests shall be forwarded to my father and sister at the earliest opportunity. Third all the rest and residue of my estate property goods shares monies furniture and effects of every description whatsoever of which I shall die possessed I devise and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Jack for her sole and absolute use and benefit to have and to hold the same to my said wife forever. I appoint William P. Walsh of Saint John's Grocer executor of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name at Saint John's aforesaid the day and date above written. Signed by the said testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
