Last will and Testament
of Mary Ann Hutchings
late of St. John's widow
Deceased
.

Know all men by these presents I Mary Ann Hutchings of Harbor Grace in the Island of Newfoundland and relict of the late John Hutchings of the same place Builder being of sound disposing mind memory recollection do make publish and declare this to be my last will and Testament.

1st. I devise and bequeath to my daughter Mary Elizabeth Hutchings my legal and equitable share of the freehold house and property situate in Cochrane Street forever.

2nd. Second I devise and bequeath to my daughter Mary Elizabeth Hutchings my legal and equitable share in the leasehold house and property situate south side of Water Street now in my occupancy forever.

3rd. I devise and bequeath to my daughter Mary Elizabeth Hutchings my legal and equitable share of all the moneys, goods and chattels to which I am entitled from the estate of my late husband John Hutchings forever.

4th. I devise and bequeath to my daughter Mary Elizabeth Hutchings my legal and equitable share of the estate of my late son William Hutchings master mariner forever.

And I appoint George Perrett Hutchings sole solicitor of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all other wills and testamentary writings by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 13th day of December 1881. Mary Ann Hutchings. Signed by the said Testator Mary Ann Hutchings as for her last will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at her request in her sight and presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as witnesses. James Hutchings Andrew F. Drysdale.

Proved before me at Harbor Grace this 23rd day of January A.D. 1889. Upon the affidavit of Andrew F. Drysdale one of the subscribing witnesses at 10:45 o'clock A. M. H. W. Tropnell Commissioner. S.C.

Codicil to the last will and testament of Mary Ann Hutchings widow of late John Hutchings of Harbor Grace Builder. I Mary Ann Hutchings of Saint John's Newfoundland by this codicil do ratify and confirm my last will and Testament dated the 13th day of December A.D. 1881. And do further give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Elizabeth Hutchings the following articles viz bed bedstead and feather bed marked in name two bolsters three pillows five quilts, two pairs of blankets, sheets pillow slips, one wash stand, one dressing table, one chest drawers, one looking glass, bedroom set, one carpet one sofa, one small table, two work boxes, pictures, one sewing machine, two chairs, one pair of brackets, one Japan Tray and Mats, one set china, one night stool, and books and clothes and that this codicil shall be adjudged to be a part and parcel of my last will and Testament witness my hand this 4th day of October A.D. 1886. Additional codicil to the last will and Testament of Mary Ann Hutchings relict of the late John Hutchings of Harbor Grace Builder deceased.

I Mary Ann Hutchings of St. John's Newfoundland by this codicil ratify and confirm my last will and Testament dated the 13th day of December 1881 and whereby give and bequeath to my son John Hutchings one feather bed, two pillows, two quilts, 1 canvas, picture, large family bible. And that this codicil shall be adjudged to be a part and parcel of my last will and Testament. Witness my hand and seal the 4th day of October 1886. M. A. Hutchings. Signed in the presence of Arthur W. Martin Annie Elizabeth Martin. Witnesses.

Additional codicil to the last will and Testament of Mary Ann Hutchings widow of the late John Hutchings of Harbor Grace Builder.

I Mary Ann Hutchings of St. John's Newfoundland by this codicil ratify and confirm my last will and Testament dated the 13th day of December 1881 and do further give and bequeath to my son James Soper Hutchings, the large writing desk formerly belonging to my deceased husband also six volumes of bible commentary and pictures. And that this codicil shall be adjudged to be a part and parcel of my last will and Testament. Witness my hand and seal the 4th day of October 1886. M. A. Hutchings. Signed in the presence of Arthur W. Martin Annie Elizabeth Martin. Witnesses.
