Last Will and Testament of
Mary Howley of St. John's
Widow deceased.
In the name of the Most Holy and undivided
Trinity Amen. This is the last will and Testament of me Mary Howley widow of
Michael Howley of St. John's Newfoundland. I Mary
Howley being of sound mind
do make this my last will and Testament after the payment of all my just debts
funeral and testamentary expenses and inscription on tombstone in the R. C.
Cemetery at Carbonear N.F. it is my will that my executors hereinafter named,
shall as soon as possible after my decease, carry out to its fullest lawful
extent the execution of my late husbands will of which I am the sole executrix,
and carry out the bequests therein mentioned in accordance with his said will.
- I
give devise and bequeath to my brother James Mullally Four hundred dollars
($400.00) out of my own personal estate, and also out of the same estate the
following amounts viz:
- To my nephew John Mullally Four
hundred dollars ($400.00).
- To the very Revd. Michael F.
Howley D.D. for Masses for the repose of my soul Two hundred ($200.00) dollars.
- To
Eliza daughter of John Howley deceased one hundred $100.00) dollars.
- To
the children of my brother Edward Mullally deceased Three hundred and twenty
($320.00).
- To the children of my brother Thomas Mullally deceased & not
including my nephew John
Mullally Three hundred and twenty
($320.00) dollars and out of the residue of my estate if there be sufficient
remaining I bequeath a further sum of Two hundred ($200.00) dollars to the
Very Revd. Michael F. Howley D.D. for Masses for the repose
of my soul.
The
residue and remainder of my own estate and whatever amount may be lawfully
due to me out of my late husbands estate I give devise and bequeath unto the
children of my late brother in law Thomas Howley deceased.
I appoint as my executors the Roman Catholic Bishop of Harbor Grace who ever
he may be at the time of my decease and my nephew John Mullally son
of Thomas Mullally deceased now of Harbor Grace. Signed Published
and declared by the said Testatrix as and for her last will and Testament,
in the presence of us present at the time who in her presence have herewith
signed our names in presence of each other as witnesses on this sixth (6th)
day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty

I certify the foregoing to be a correct
copy of the last will and Testament of Mary Howley deceased
