Will of Annie Howley
from Newfoundland will books volume 13 page 41 probate year 1924

In re
      ANNIE HOWLEY.     DECEASED.

In the name of God Amen.

      I, Annie Howley of St. John’s Newfoundland Spinster being of sound mind memory and disposition do make this my last will and testament.

1st. I revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions at any time heretofore made by me.

2nd. I appoint the Roman Catholic Archbishop of St. John’s or the Clergyman for the time being in charge of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of St. John’s as sole executor hereof.

3. I give and bequeath to my said executor all property of which I may die possessed in trust for the following purposes:-

(a) To pay all my debts including $1000. to Mrs. Elizabeth Dunphy as per agreement in writing made with her to day and my funeral and testamentary expenses including death duties.

(b) To pay to my nieces Katherine Howley and Emily Howley daughters of my deceased brother Dr. Thomas Howley the sum of five hundred dollars each.

( c) To pay to my cousin Anne Burse the sum of five hundred dollars.

(d) To pay to the Roman Catholic Episcopal Corporation of St. John’s the sum of two thousand dollars to provide two High Masses annually one for the repose of my soul and the other for the repose of the souls of my brothers John Howley and William Howley.

(e) To pay the residue if any to the Mount Cashel Boys Orphanage.    ANNE HOWLEY.

Signed published and declared as and for her last will and testament by the said Anne Howley in our presence present at the same time who in her presence and at her request and in the presence of each other signed hereto the 9th day of September A.D. 1921.
