Last will and Testament of
Mary Holden of St. John’s
Widow deceased

      This is the last will and testament of me Mary Holden widow of the late Richard B. Holden of Saint Johns Newfoundland, and I revoke all former wills by me made.

  1. I give and bequeath unto my nephew Richard Holden Alcock son of my late brother William Alcock, the cottage in which I now reside, situated on Monks Town road, with the land adjoining also the Furniture beds and bedding in the cottage at my decease.
  2. To my nephew Albert Alcock eldest son of my late Brother Wm Alcock I give devise and bequeath the two houses with the land adjoining in Monks Town road bounded on the one hand by the premises now occupied by me and on the other hand by Spry’s premises-
  3. I give devise and bequeath unto my niece Lilian Anstey daughter of sister Melina Rowsall deceased, all my clothing and jewelry.
  4. The residue after the payment of my Funeral expenses, and lawful debts I give devise and bequeath in equal parts unto my two nephews described in sections No 1 & 2 of this my last will 5. I appoint the Honorable George Skelton and Robert Mackintosh Esquire both of Saint John’s Executors of this my will.

Dated at Saint John’s this twenty eight day of November A.D. eighteen hundred and ninety five. (Sgd) Mary Holden. Signed published and declared by the said testator, as and for her last will and Testament, on the date last above written in the presence of us the subscribers who in the presence of the testator and of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as such witnesses - (sgd) William Stowe. (Sgd) James Stowe.

      I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Mary Holden deceased
