In re
      James Hodder       deceased.

      I James Hodder of Twillingate in the Northern District of the Island of Newfoundland, being of sound mind and memory and understanding, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following

1. I give and bequeath unto my wife Susan Hodder
   (a) The sum of One hundred and seventy dollars due me by Frederick White on property sold him at Back Harbour
   (b) One-third of all rents received from the hire of my stores to the Fishermen’s Protective Union
   (c) The following amounts due and secured by Three Promissory Notes bearing date August 24^th A.D. 1914 and payable at the Bank of Nova Scotia No. 1 note One hundred and fifty-one 14/100 dollars No. 2 note one hundred and sixty dollars No. 3. note five hundred dollars each note signed by “Obediah Hodder”, said monies to be collected and deposited in the Bank of Nova Scotia for the support of my wife
   (d) My shop and property at Crow Head is to be sold and the proceeds deposited also in the Bank for the support of my wife.

2. I give and devise unto my wife Susan Hodder my interest in my dwelling house and furniture to be used by her during her natural life.    And in the event of my dwelling house being sold then out of the purchase money my son Titus W. Hodder is to have Four hundred dollars ($400) But in the event of my dwelling house not been sold, and after the death of my wife, it is to be used as a home for my children and their families when visiting in Twillingate.

3. I give and bequeath unto my two sons Edgar Hodder and Alexander Hodder one-third each of the rents received from my premises hired by the Fisherman’s Protective Union.

4.      I give and devise unto my son Obediah Hodder a piece of land to erect a cooperage upon, said piece or parcel of land has been recently measured and a diagram made by Jas. A. D. Peyton Deputy Land Surveyor, for this purpose

5. I give and devise unto my two sons Edgar Hodder and Alexander Hodder all other lands of which I may die possessed to be equally divided between them for their sole use and benefit.

6. I give and devise unto my two sons Edgar Hodder and Alexander Hodder my waterside premises in equal shares, but the above premises do not include the building known as the Restaurant, as it (Restaurant) is the private property of my son Alexander Hodder.     In the event of my sons deciding to divide the said waterside premises then my son Edgar Hodder is to have the western part and my son Alexander Hodder the eastern but the wharf to be used conjointly.

7. I give and devise unto my son Alexander Hodder all my fishing property consisting of schooner “General Booth” traps nets boats motorboat and all other fishing property belonging to me, also my interest in schooner “Myrtle”.

8. I give and devise unto my son Alexander Hodder three-fourths of my mining property at Fleur de Lys, Treaty Coast, the remainder to my wife Susan

9. In the event of my mining property being sold during the lifetime of my wife then my executor is to deposit the amount due my wife with all other monies in the Bank for her support, at her death any money not expended for her support is to be equally divided amongst my children and my grandson Mark Bishop.

Lastly I hereby appoint Charles White N.P. the executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me made.    All the rest residue and remainder I give devise and bequeath unto my son Alexander Hodder.     In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 20^th day of September A.D. 1915.    James Hodder     Signed in the presence of Edgar Sweetland     Edwin Hayward.

      Codicil Whereas I did make my son Alexander Hodder residuary legatee I do now by this writing make alteration, I give my horse & harness cart etc to be used conjointly by my sons Edgar & Alexander Hodder in all other respects confirming my will of this date.    In witness where I have hereto set my hand this 20^th day of September 1915.     James Hodder     Signed in the presence of Edgar Sweetland    Edwin Hayward
