The last Will and Testament of
Mary Clift Hill late of St. John's
Spinster, deceased.
This is the last will and Testament of me Mary
Clift Hill of Saint John's in the Island of Newfoundland, Spinster.
First
I direct that my funeral and testamentary expenses shall be first paid out
of my general estate. Secondly. I give devise and bequeath to my
grand niece Emyln Maria Mallam the dwelling house owned by me situate on Gower
Street in the town of Saint John's, also the Government Debentures, moneys,
securities for moneys, Furniture and stock in trade of whatsoever kind or nature
and wheresoever the same may be, to be her separate property and estate absolutely
for ever, free from the debts and control of any present or future husband
or husbands.
Thirdly. I give devise and bequeath to my said grand
niece Emyln Maria Mallan all & any estate property, moneys, goods, chattels
and effects, not herein specifically bequeathed to which I am now, or hereafter
may be entitled to be her separate estate absolutely for ever, free from the
control of any present or future husband or husbands.
Lastly. I appoint
my fried James Warricker of Saint John's painter sole executor of this my last
will and testament hereby revoking all former wills and testaments heretofore
by me at any time made and hereby declaring this to be my true last will and
Testament
Mary Clift Hill. Signed published and declared by the said
Testatrix as and for her last will and Testament this 6th day of
September A.D. 1894 at St. John's aforesaid in the presence of us who in her
presence and the presence of each other, have hereto subscribed our names as
witnesses
"September" having been substituted for "August." B.
