Last Will and Testament of
Elizabeth Hickman of Grand Bank
widow deceased.
In the name of God Amen. I Elizabeth
Hickman widow of the late James Hickman of Grand Bank Newfoundland being of
sound & disposing mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this
life, do make publish and declare this to be my last will and Testament as
follows
1st First I give devise and bequeath to Joshua Hickman my
brother in law the meadow at Lance Loup. 2 To William Hickman my
brother in law my meadow in Admirals Cove. 3 To James Hedley Hickman my dwelling house, barn and store with all the land on which the respective
buildings refered to stands with all adjoining land within the enclosure. Also
my ox and two sheep and my pew in the church. 4 To Susan Hiscock my sister my oldest cow. 5 To Dinah
Courtney my sister my heifer. 6.
To my sister Amanda Rose my new sewing machine and the feather bed I am now
lying on and part of the bedding including the croched bed cover. 7.
To my nephew James Hedley Hickman before mentioned my two beds with bedding
and bed room set & furniture also stoves and cooking utensils. I also give
the last mentioned my husbands large bible with advice to peruse it. I
hereby appoint my brother Samuel Rose and Joshua Hickman to be my executors.
I also appoint my sisters Amanda Rose & Susan Hiscock to distribute what
presents I give my friends of Goods not included in this my last will & testament.
(Sgd) Elizabeth her x mark Hickman. Signed declared and published by the undersigned
Elizabeth Hickman as her last will & Testament in the presence of the undersigned.
