In re
Joseph Hewitt deceased.
This is the last will and Testament
of me Joseph Hewitt son of James Hewitt of Trepassey
Newfoundland.
(1) I appoint James Murphy Esq J.P. and Dr.
L. J. Giovannetti both of Trepassey to be my executors.
(2)
I give devise and bequeath unto John and James
Hewitt sons of Joseph
Hewitt and Jane Hewitt of Trepassey all that part of the stage
owned by me and situated on the east side of Trepassey.
(3)
I give, devise and bequeath unto my sister Mary Ann Ryan of Trepassey
all of my beach and store situate on the east side of Trepassey also
the piece and parcel of land on the east side of Trepassey bounded as
follows:- on the south by road leading to Hewitts warf; on the north
east by the property of Thomas and Lawrence
Halleran on the east by the
main road and on the west by the beach aforesaid
(4) I give
devise and bequeath unto my sister Mary Ann Ryan aforesaid
also my horse my hay and my stable.
(5) I give devise and bequeath to
George and Kate Hewitt my house to be his until death then it is become
the property of my sister Mary Ann Ryan aforesaid
(6)
I give, devise and bequeath unto my cousins John and James
Hewitt aforesaid
all that piece of land now occupied by them and situated on the east
side of the main road of Trepassey. Also the piece of land on the west
side of the aforesaid main road. This land being now used by them as
a garden
(7)
I give, devise and bequeath unto my sister Mary Ann Ryan all moneys,
watch and other personal property not herein mentioned. I acknowledge
this to be my last will and testament and hereunto sign my hand this
ninth day of March in the year of Our Lord nineteen hundred and six.
