Will of Mary Ann Harvey from Newfoundland will books volume 5 pages 127-128 probate year 1887

Last will and Testament of Mary
Ann Harvey of St. John's widow.

I Mary Ann Harvey of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland widow do hereby make this my last will and Testament as follows.

1st. I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Johanna Harvey her heirs executors administrators and assigns the dwelling house and stable adjoining and large garden below the house now leased to Mrs. Ann Denieffe & George Denief and lying between the Topsail and Waterford Bridge Roads as well also the land upon which the barn is built now occupied by John Pack also any furniture and effects except the sofa in Mrs. Moores parlor.

2nd. I give devise and bequeath to Mary Jane Moore my daughter wife of James P. Moore the large field belonging to me in the rear of said dwelling house and premises and lying between John Pack's ground and said premises leased to George Denieffe aforesaid also the sofa before mentioned now in Mrs. Moores parlor to her heirs administrators and assigns for ever.

3rd. I give devise and bequeath all my right title and interest in the house I now occupy to my daughter Eliza Harvey her heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever.

4th. I give devise and bequeath the four Gothic Grates and one cooking stove purchased by me from Mr. Wheatley to my daughters share and share alike.

5th. I hereby give and devise my writing desk to my grandson Lorenzo Moore.

6th. It is my will and desire that my brother John Palk shall be cleared out of and removed from off my premises on or before the first day of May next and do the best he can for himself.

Lastly I appoint my son in law James P. Moore of St. John's Accountant to be executor of this my will.
In witness whereof I the said Mary Ann Harvey have hereunto set my will by affixing my mark thereto at St. John's aforesaid the twenty fourth February A.D. one thousand eight hundred and seventy nine.
Mary Ann her x mark Harvey. Signed published and declared by the said Testatrix at St. John's aforesaid on the day and year before written in our presence who at her request have hereto affixed our names as witnesses in her presence and in the presence of each other the same having been first read over and explained. John O'Brien. A. O. Hayward.
I certify that the foregoing is a correct copy.
