Will of Michael Hartery from Newfoundland will books volume 14 pages 464-465 probate year 1929

In re     DECEASED.
MICHAEL HARTERY.

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me, Michael Hartery of Cape Broyle General Dealer, hereby revoking all other and former wills by me at any time made.

After the payment of all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses I give, devise and bequeath as follows:-

  1. To my daughter Annie and Stepson, John, my dwelling house and shop together with the land surrounding the said dwelling house and shop.
  2. To my daughter, Annie, the amount to my credit in the Savings Department of the Bank of Montreal.
  3. To my Stepsons, Douglas and Martin the Farm land known as the "Hill Land"
  4. To my daughter Annie and my stepson John, the Farm land known at the "Cross Roads"
  5. To my daughter Annie and my stepsons, Douglas, Martin and John the Waterside Premises in equal shares.
  6. To my daughter Annie and my stepson John the small Ice House together with the land connected therewith.
  7. To my stepsons, Douglas and Martin my interest in the other Ice House together with the land connected therewith.
  8. To my daughter Annie and my stepsons, Douglas, Martin and John all my Stock in Trade of every nature and kind in equal shares.
  9. To my stepson, Douglas, any money that may be to my credit on current account in the Bank of Montreal.
  10. To my daughter Annie, all my household furniture, plate, linen, pictures and household effects of every description.
  11. I give and bequeath to my Executor hereinafter named the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) for the celebration of Masses for the repose of my soul.
  12. The residue of my Estate and Effects to be equally divided between my daughter Annie and my stepsons, Douglas, Martin and John.

I appoint my stepson, Douglas, Executor of this my will.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF. I have hereunto set my hand this 14th day of January, Anno Domini, one thousand nine hundred and twenty nine.

SIGNED by the above named Michael Hartery as his last Will and Testament in the joint presence of himself and us who at his request and in such joint presence have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
