Last will and Testament
of William Griffiths late of
St. John's Fisherman deceased
.

The will of William Griffiths made this thirteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty four.

I William Griffiths, do hereby bequeath all my property, consisting of lands, house, household furniture, and all other whatsoever in the following manner viz.

First I bequeath the house in which I live, and the land taken on lease from William Leight Anthony situated on Lazy Bank Road to my youngest son William Griffiths.

Second. The remainder of the landed property I bequeath to my two sons Richard and Alexander, to be divided equally between them. The said Richard and Alexander Griffiths being required and bound to leave a road from their portion, to that leased by me William Griffiths from William Leight Anthony. The breadth of the said road to be ten feet. Moreover, said Richard and Alexander Griffiths to be bound out of this portion of the property allotted to them, to give to each of my children, viz George Robert Griffiths, Joseph ?? and William John with a piece of land twenty five feet by fifteen feet to the north of the house I now reside in with the right of Inpress and egress to and from the public road.

Witness my hand this 13th day of July in the year of our Lord God one thousand eight hundred and sixty four. - William Griffiths. - In the presence of us. Charles S. Medley Clerk. Thomas Woods. - It is my further will that the whole of my property remain in status quo during the life of my wife Mary Griffiths, and that the said Mary Griffiths have first right to, and possession of the same until her death, and after her decease all my portable property shall become the property of my youngest son William Griffiths. Furthermore, I do hereby appoint Mr. William Blackler Senr. and Mr. Thomas Withycombe of St. John's Newfoundland to be the executors of this my last will and Testament, and that this will do remain in the hands of the Reverend Charles T. Medley during the remainder of my life. - William X Griffiths. - Signed this thirteenth day of July in the year of our Lord God one thousand eight hundred and sixty four. In the presence of us Charles S. Medley Thos. Woods.
