Will of Gregory Griffin from Newfoundland will books volume 5 page 147 probate year 1887 Last will and Testament of I Gregory Griffin of St. John's, Farmer do make publish and declare this as and for my last will and Testament. I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses shall be paid. I give devise and bequeath to the Very Reverend John Ryan of St. Patrick's Riverhead St. John's the sum of Five pounds for masses for the repose of my soul. I give devise and bequeath to Mary Flynn my servant all my household furniture, beds, bedding watch gun and other chattels and effects in my dwelling house. All the rest residue and remainder of my moneys goods chattels property and effects whatsoever I give devise and bequeath to the said Very Reverend John Ryan in trust to distribute the same to and amongst the poor of St. John's in such manner and in such amounts and at such times as he may think proper. And I do hereby nominate and appoint the said Very Reverend John Ryan Executor of this my will and do revoke all other wills by me heretofore made
