SAMUEL GOSSE.

The Last will and testament of Samuel Gosse of Torbay in the district of St. John's east Nfld. made this 4th day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twenty four.

In the name of God, Amen.

I, Samuel Gosse of Torbay in the district of St. John's East Nfld. aged 70 years and being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make and declare this to be my last will and testament in the manner following.
Firstly My dwelling house and out-houses all my carts and wheels, and farming utensils, also all live stock I will and bequeath to my son Samuel Gosse.
Secondly That piece or parcel of tilled land containing ½ acre more or less and bounded on North by main Line of Road, East by Hickeys Lane, West by river and South by Hickeys Bridge I leave will and bequeath to my son Samuel.
Thirdly That piece or parcel of Marsh Land (Hay-Land) containing 2 acres more or less and bounded as follows, on North by land owned by John Thorne, (of Henry) South by land owned by Joseph Gosse, East by land owned by Jesse Manning, and West by land owned by Alfred Gosse, I also will and bequeath to my son Samuel.
Fourthly That piece or parcel of land on Reillys Ridge containing 5 acres more or less and bounded as follows on North by Bye Road, South by Bauline line Road, East by land owned by Reillys, West by land owned by William Martin, I also will and bequeath to my son Samuel.
Fifthly That piece or parcel of land at White Rock pond containing about 3 acres more or less and bounded as follows, on West by land owned by Peter Goss, East by land owned by Wm Brown, North by land owned by Rich Manning and Thomas Flemming, and South by Marsh Path, I will and bequeath to my son Arthur.
Sixthly That piece or parcel of land on Frenchmans Ridge containing about 1 acre more or less and containing bounded as follows, on the North by Public Road, South by land owned by Martins, East by Public Road, and west by land owned by Joseph Gosse I will and bequeath to my son Samuel
Seventhly I will and bequeath to my son Samuel $784.00 (seven hundred and eighty four dollars) in Govt Savings Bank St. John's Nfld. $600.00 (six hundred dollars) lent at interest to church in Torbay and $1000.00 (one thousand Dollars) life Insurance Policy.
Eightly My Cod Trap, Caplin seine, Trap Boat, Anchors, Stage, Flakes, and all fishing property, I will and bequeath to my two sons Samuel and Arthur, each to share alike.
Ninthly My son Samuel is to give a home to my wife Margaret here in my dwelling house and is to support and care for her till her death.

In witness whereof I hereto set my hand this 4th day of July 1924.
