Will of James J. Gearen from Newfoundland will books volume 14 page 107 probate year 1927
This name is spelled Gearen in the will index, and Gearin, and Geran in the will itself.

In re
      JAMES J. GEARIN.       DECEASED.

This is the last will and testament of me, James J. Gearin, of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland, Master Mariner.
I revoke all former wills by me at any time made, and I appoint my niece Bridget Nurse the executrix of this my will.
I direct that my debts and testamentary and funeral expenses shall first be paid out of my estate, and I give and bequeath all the rest of my property, including my house and land on Long's Hill and my money in the Newfoundland Government Savings Bank to the said Bridget Nurse for her sole use and benefit.
Witness my hand at St. John's aforesaid this first day of March, 1917.

Signed, Published and Declared by the testator as and for his last will and testament in presence of us, both being present at the same time, who in his presence and at his request hereunto subscribe ourselves as witnesses attesting the due execution hereof:-
