Will of Charles Gard
from Newfoundland will books volume 9 pages 321-322 probate year 1911

In re
      Charles Gard          deceased.

      The last will and Testament of Charles Gard (Cooper) in the Northern District of the Island of Newfoundland. I Charles Gard considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind, and memory (blessed be God for the same) do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say.
First I give and bequeath to my daughter Martha, my dwelling house, stable and garden situated south of my house, together with all my household furniture, and the garden situate on Fogo Head.
Secondly. I give and bequeath to my son Walter, all land owned by me situated north of my dwelling house, together with Stage, Coopers Shop, also my Gun. I further request my son Walter, that should my son Tom return and wish to remain and live in the harbour, that Walter shall give him room to build on his portion of the Room.
Thirdly. I give, devise, bequeath, to my children equally, any money I may die possessed of Lastly I constitute and appoint Earnest E. Hyde as my Executor to carry out the provisions of this my last will and Testament, as witness my hand at Fogo aforesaid, this 28th day of April one thousand nine hundred and three.    Charles Gard (LS)    Signed by the said Charles Gard the Testator in the presence of us, who in his presence, and in the presence of each other, at the same time, subscribe our names as witnesses.
