The last Will of
Robert Ford late of
Bonavista, Trader.

      I Robert Ford of the Town of Bonavista in the Island of Newfoundland trader being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this as my last will and testament. I hereby appoint the Rev. A.C. Bayly and Mr. Charles E. Thompson to be the executors of my will.

1st. I hereby bequeath to my wife Rebecca Ford all the money that may be in the house, also the Farm with the stable thereon also that piece of meadow land known as Baker's piece adjoining the farm, also my dwelling house and all and everything it contains, also the shop and store, and all they contain, also the stables and all outhouses and all the grounds on which the house shop and store stand and which surrounds them or is connected with them.
Also, all my herring nets salmon nets and seal nets, a lot of such board in store loft, my two carriages and sleighs together with the harnesses thereof, also two guns and a double barrel gun which William Greening of Goose Bay has in his possession. Also Fishing Room, stage flakes and oil house these namely the fishing room stage flakes and oil house I will to Robert Ford Jr after my wife's death; And it is my desire and wish that Stephen Cuff shall have the right to use the stage and flake which he now occupies free of charge or rent as long as he requires them for his own use. I also give and bequeath to my wife the dwelling house store cellar and all the grounds connected and belonging to them that formerly belonged to Alfred Ford and after her decease then they are to become the property of Robert Ford Jr. of George I also bequeath to my wife all the lumber and such board which are base in the store which Robert Ford Jr. occupies on the same property. I also give and bequeath to my wife the one third part of Shepherds garden this being the east part. I also give and bequeath to my wife all these five spots of ground called Lynches ground Moreys Meadow, Michael Joy's ground, Joseph Rolls Meadow and the cellar with its contented ground and also that spots of land which lies between Joseph Ford's ground and my carriage house to do what she may please with it.

2nd. I hereby devise and bequeath to my friend Stephen Cuff all that piece or parcel of land known as Roberts meadow with this understanding that my wife shall be at liberty at all times when she requires it to water her cattle (?) upon (?) the aforesaid meadow without interference or interruption I bequeath and give to Stephen Cuff that piece or parcel of land on the Catalina Road and bounded on the South by the Rocky Cove I also bequeath and give to Stephen Cuff my mooring claims and the two anchors which are now in the water; and I also bequeath to him my little punt.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twentieth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two. Robert his x mark Ford — Signed sealed published and declared by the said Robert Ford as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses to the due execution thereof witness A.E.G. Bayly - Chas Thompson.
