Will of Emily Jane Ford
from Newfoundland will books volume 13 page 13 probate year 1924

In re
      EMILY JANE FORD.     DECEASED.

This is the last will and testament of me, Emily Jane Ford of the Southside, St. John’s, Widow.

      I appoint the Reverend Arthur B. S. Stirling of St. John’s sole executor of this my will.

      It is my will and desire that my house situate at number 373 Southside St. John’s be sold and that all my other property, goods, chattels and effects be sold as soon as practicable after my death and that out of the proceeds thereof there be first paid all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses.

      I desire that out of the balance remaining there be expended a sum sufficient to have the graves of my family in the Church of England Cemetery properly attended to and the gravestones repainted.
I bequeath to my sister Elizabeth White the sum of One hundred dollars ($100.00).
I bequeath to my brother, William Henry Saunders, the sum of One hundred dollars ($100.00).
I bequeath to my executor a sum equal to five per cent of the gross value of my estate.
The residue and remainder of my estate I bequeath to my brothers, William Henry Saunders and Charles Saunders, and my sisters, Susan Kenny of Truro and Emma Halfpenny of Nottingham, England and Elizabeth White in equal shares.

      Witness my hand at St. John’s this eighth day of March A.D. 1924.    EMILY JANE FORD.

Signed published and declared by the testatrix as her last will in our presence who in her presence and the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses.
