Will of Robert E. Forbes In re Robert E. Forbes deceased This is the last will and testament of me Robert E. Forbes, Medical Practitioner residing in Bonavista Newfoundland. I hereby devise and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Cowan Forbes everything I own or possess that is to say. Dwelling House with contents and land adjacent. Field on Lance Cove Road. Field bounded by property of Ryan, Tilly, & Miles & Squires. Stable, Cellar, Outhouse, Cattle, Horses, Harness, Carriages and Carts, Shares in Maritime Telegraph and Telephone Co., Ltd., Gold Bonds re Little Mattie Mine, Life Insurance policy, Mortgage H. Mifflin or other book debts. Cash in Bank or safe. Further it is my express wish and desire that my wife Elizabeth Cowan Forbes shall absolutely and without any qualification or restriction inherit and be put in possession of everything belonging to me for her, my wife's, own use and disposal as she, my wife, may deem right. I appoint my wife Elizabeth Cowan Forbes Executrix of this my last Will and Testament. Robert E. Forbes M.D. [LS] Signed and sealed in the presence of us, who in the presence of each other and in the presence of the Testator and at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses this 20th day of June 1912. Note: The wills in those will books are NOT actual wills.
They are hand-written copies of a, "last will and testament," written
by the court clerk, after the death of the testator, when the executor
presented them to the court for probate. The court clerk didn't list
the signatures at the bottom, he (or she) just put them in the book
in whatever order they were in, on the original document, no spacing
most of the time, no punctuation. The originals were kept by the executor.
We who have typed these wills, have made every effort to include all the errors that were on the microfilm, in order to avoid destroying the integrity of the originals, where ever they may be. |
