from Newfoundland will books volume 6 page 31 probate year 1893

Last Will and Testament of
Eliza Foley of St. John's
Spinster deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me Eliza Foley of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland Spinster.
First I will and direct that my Executor hereinafter named shall first out of my general estate pay all my just debts and Funeral and testamentary expenses -
Second I order and direct that after my decease my body shall be interred in "Belvidere Cemetery" and I charge my executor with the erection of an iron Railing around the plot in which I shall be buried.
Third I give devise and bequeath to my beloved sister Martha P. Wife of Walter Veale with whom I have resided all my lifetime all & singular my jewellery, money & clothing Also my estate right title and interest in and to the fee simple property situate on the Signal Hill Road at present occupied by Alphonses Rolls and all other my worldly goods estate and effects of every description not herein specifically bequeathed I devise to my said sister Martha P. for her sole use and benefit for ever.
Lastly I appoint James J. Pitman of St. John's Solicitor sole Executor of this my last will & Testament. Witness my hand at St. John's this first day of July A.D. 1890. (Sgd) Eliza Foley. Signed Published and declared by the said Testatrix as and for her last will and testament in presence of us who in his presence at her request and the presence of each other have subscribed ourselves as witnesses (Sgd) Wm T. Pitman (Sgd) Walter Veale.
