The
surname is spelled Flynn in the will index, and Flynn and Flinn in this
will
Last Will and Testament of James Flynn of
Old Placentia Road Farmer deceased.
In the name of God. Amen.
I bequeath my soul to God my
body to the earth.
I James Flinn (sic)
of the Placentia Road farmer do bequeath to my wife Margaret
Flinn during her life all my effects consisting of my farm
2 houses one horse three cows with all my farming implements together
with carts wheels and all belonging to the farm and after my wife's death
the farm is to be left to my two sons Patrick Flinn and
James Flinn each an equal share. My son James is
to have the new house with with (sic) that side of the farm which it
is built on and Patrick is to have the old house
and that part of the farm attached to it. All the stock remaining on
the farm at my wife's death is to be divided between my two sons Patrick and
James an
equal share to both and all the farming utensills (sic) likewise. My
daughter Johanna is
to get her support out of the farm while she remains here my two sons
are to support her. My other four daughters that is Margaret
Mary Ellen and Catherine they
are to have no claim whatever on the property after my death. My son
Thomas I
am cutting him of (sic) with one shilling sterling he is to have no further
claim on the Estate. And I also do prevent my sons Patrick and
James from
either selling or mortgaging the any of the said property and also any
debts dues or demands is on the property my wife is to be responsible
for them during her life. (sgd) James (his x mark) Flinn Testator
his last will and testament. (sgd) Executor Michael Treacy.

One Thousand Eight hundred and Eighty nine.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will
