Will of Edward Flaherty from Newfoundland will books volume 5 pages 180-181 probate year 1888. Last will and Testament of I Edward Flaherty of Gaster's Conception Bay Planter do make ordain and publish the following as and for my last will and Testament To my son James Flaherty I will and bequeath (subject to the bequests hereinafter set forth) all my lands chattels and effects to have and hold the same during his life time and on his demise without issue I will and bequeath the land on which my dwelling house is erected together with said house the kitchen garden appurtenant thereto and sufficient of my ground for the setting or planting of two barrels of seed potatoes. To Ann wife of said James and Patience Gorman my granddaughter to hold the same share and share alike as tenants in common but in the event of the event of the death of the said Ann or her remarriage then said Patience Gorman shall hold the same absolutely. On my said son so dying I will and bequeath the rest and remainder of my lands and chattels to my four daughters Patience Gorman Betsey or Elizabeth Furey Annie Rorke and Mary Wade share and share alike. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a correct copy.
