Will of John T. Fitzpatrick
from Newfoundland will books vol 11 page 222 probate year 1918

In re John T. Fitzpatrick       deceased

This is the last will and Testament of me John T. Fitzpatrick of St. John's Gentleman. I bequeath to my daughters, Agnes and Ellen all my properties situate on New Gower Street and Steven Street to hold between them as tenants in common. I also bequeath to my daughters, Agnes and Ellen all monies in Government Savings Bank. I appoint Michael Connors of St. John's. Druggist. Executor of this my will which I hereby execute on the 9th day of May A.D. 1918, signed J. Fitzpatrick. Published and declared and signed by the testator at his last will in the presence of us who, in his presence and in the presence of each other hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses F. G. Harris     L. P. Halley

Correct Charles H. Emerson
Registrar of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland.

Note: The wills in those will books are NOT actual wills. They are hand-written copies of a, "last will and testament," written by the court clerk, after the death of the testator, when the executor presented them to the court for probate. The court clerk didn't list the signatures at the bottom, he (or she) just put them in the book in whatever order they were in, on the original document, no spacing most of the time, no punctuation. The originals were kept by the executor.

We who have typed these wills, have made every effort to include all the errors that were on the microfilm, in order to avoid destroying the integrity of the originals, where ever they may be.
