Will of Christopher Fisher from Newfoundland will books volume 14 pages 144-145 probate year 1927

In re
      CHRISTOPHER FISHER.       DECEASED.

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me, Christopher Fisher of Corner Brook, Lumber Merchant. Retired

  1. I revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me and I declare this to be my last will and testament.

  2. I appoint the Royal Trust Company sole executors of this my will.

  3. I bequeath to my beloved wife, Janet Aitken Fisher the seventy five shares in the Bank of Montreal, Curling, for her sole and absolute use and benefit for ever.

  4. I will and bequeath to my said wife, Janet Aitken Fisher, all my land and dwelling house together with all furniture and household goods and effects for her sole and absolute use and benefit forever.

  5. I bequeath to the Church of England Orphanage the sum of $1000.00L.M. $100.00. W.M.B. B.M.

  6. I bequeath to the Orphanage of the United Church of Newfoundland the sum of L.M. $100 0.00 W.M.B.B.M.

  7. I bequeath to the Child Welfare Association the sum of $1000.00 L.M. $100.00. W.M.B. B.M.

  8. I bequeath to the Permanent Marine Disasters Fund the sum of $1000.00 L.M.$100.00 W.M.B.B.M.

  9. I direct that out of the remaining assets of my estate, my executors shall create a fund the annual income from which shall together with and including the income from the said shares mentioned in Paragraph 3 hereof be sufficient to provide my said wife with an annual income of W.M.B. B.M.L.M.$1000.00 $1500.00 which said annual income shall be paid by my executors to my said wife during her life time. Upon the death of my said wife, the assets comprising the said fund shall form part of the residue of my estate.

  10. The amounts advanced by me during my life time to my son, Norman Fisher, and remaining unpaid by him at my death shall form part of the residue of my estate but it is my desire that my executors shall not collect same but shall deduct the amount thereof from the share which shall be payable out of my estate to my said son, Norman Fisher, under paragraph 11 hereof.

  11. All the rest and residue of my estate I bequeath to my children: Josiah Fisher, Myra Campbell, Franklin Fisher, Norman Fisher, Elizabeth Carter, John Fisher and George Prescott Fisher in equal parts share and share alike.

  12. I declare that my executors shall have power at any time or times in their sole discretion to sell at such price and upon such terms as they may think fit the whole or any part of my residuary estate and to invest the net proceeds of any such sale in any investments that they consider advisable with authority to my said executors to invest the said residue or any part thereof in investments other than those authorized by law or in their discretion to retain and hold the shares and bonds now held by me or any portion thereof and in the event of my said executors holding or retaining the shares and bonds now held by me or any portion thereof, they shall not be liable in any way for any loss through the said bonds or shares becoming of less value than the said shares and bonds are at the present time.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto subscribed and set my hand and seal this 29th day of October A.D. 1926.
