Will of Catherine Finnity from Newfoundland will books volume 5 pages 92-93 probate year 1886 The last will and Testament This is the last will and Testament of me Catherine Finnity of Saint John's in the Island of Newfoundland. First it is my will that out of what monies which may remain in the hands of my executor hereinafter named after the sale of that block of Houses consisting of four tenements now in the occupancy of John Scurry, Robert Weldon, James Downey and Mrs. Woods, my just debts and funeral expenses shall first be paid and the balance if any shall be paid over to my husband Matthew Finnity for his sole use and benefit. Secondly I devise and bequeath the house now occupied by me and one Michael Carew to my husband aforesaid and all the furniture in the said house and at his death the said house shall go to the Reverend John Ryan of Saint Patricks Parish and after his death to the said Parish, and the condition of this bequest is that my said husband shall from the rents derivable from that portion of the house occupied by Michael Carew pay to my executor, to be divided for Masses for my soul the sum of two pounds per year. I hereby appoint Edward P. Morris Barrister-at-Law my sole executor. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my hand at Saint John's aforesaid this twenty sixth day of July A.D. 1886 Catherine Finnity - Signed by the said testatrix as her last will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence and at her request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses - John Fitzgerald.
