Will of William J. Farrell
from Newfoundland will books volume 10 pages 271-272 probate year 1914

In re
      WILLIAM J. FARRELL       deceased.

      This is the last will and testament of me William Farrell, of St. John’s, in the Island of Newfoundland, Master Mariner.    I appoint Michael Connors of St. John’s aforesaid, Druggist, and Frederick W. Rennie of the same place Accountant, the Guardians of my children William Raphael Farrell and Kathleen Farrell, and executors of this my last will and testament.    I give devise and bequeath unto my said executors all property of every description and moneys of which I may die possessed to hold the same for the purposes and trusts hereinafter mentioned- to apply the income thereof for the support and education of my said children and each of them, and if the same income should in the opinion of my said executors at any time be insufficient, to apply so much of the principal as may be necessary for such purposes.    Upon the elder of my said children attaining the age of twenty-one years to pay to him a moiety of the said principal sum and to hold the other moiety for the same purposes and trusts in relation to the younger untill she shall attain the age of twenty one years, and then to pay to her the said remaining moiety for her separate use.    In the event of either of my said children dying before attaining the age of twenty one years, then the whole of my said property and moneys shall be held for the said trusts and purposes in relation to the survivor, and to be paid to her or him as the case may be when he or she shall attain the said age of twenty one years.    And I hereby empower my said executors to invest any moneys of which I may die possessed in such manner as they shall deem advisable and to vary said investments from time to time, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 19th day of July Anno Domini one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.    William J Farrell     Signed published and declared by the said testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us, who at his request in his presence, and in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
