Last will and Testament of
Clara Emerson of St. John’s
widow deceased

      I Clara Emerson of St. John’s in the Island of Newfoundland, widow, declare this to be my last will & Testament. Whereas I am Executrix under the will of my late husband Prescott Emerson, and whereas I have invested certain moneys belonging to the estate of my said late husband in my own name under certain indentures of mortgage as follows:

• From Patrick J. Scott Administrator dated December 4^th 1893,
• from Ida Lilly dated December 20^th 1892,
• from Samuel Garrett dated June 10^th 1896,
• from Adam Ramsay dated October 15^th 1894,
• from James Cahill dated December 10^th 1896,
• from Catherine Cotter dated August 1893,
• from Caroline Kenny dated November 20^th 1896,
• from Catherine Farrell dated May 27^th 1896,
• from Ann Denief dated September 1^st 1893,
• from Mary Nagle dated November 3^rd 1896,
• from Thomas Green dated December 11^th 1893,
• from Johanna Edmond dated September 5^th 1993,
• from Samuel Case dated September 9^th 1893,
• from William Samways dated November 7^th 1896,
• from William J. Savin dated August 19^th 1893.

And whereas I desire to carry out the terms and intention of the will of my said late husband. Now I hereby give and bequeath all my right title and interest in the said deeds of mortgage to my nephew Charles H. Emerson To hold the same unto him for ever. And I hereby appoint my said nephew Charles H. Emerson to be the sole Executor of this my last will and Testament. Dated at St. John’s this 11^th day of March 1898. (Sgd) Clara Emerson.
