Will of Emily Elliott In re This is the last will & testament of me Emily Elliott, age 77 years of Change Islands in the District of Fogo. I direct that my room & all on it to be given to my son Andrew. The land now used by John & Andrew Elliott to be still retained by them, each one taking half. I direct that the garden by Mr Cook’s shop to be given to Bethio, the wife of my son John Elliott I direct that the garden on Dunning Point be given to my daughter Thirza Blake I direct that my money be divided among my five children, my son Henry living at Harbor Briton having already received a hundred dollars from me, this amount must now be deducted from his share: my wish is that all should share alike after funeral expenses being deducted, but should the amount fall short of a hundred dollars Henry is to make good the amount to make the five shares equal. I direct that my bed & bedstead is for my son Andrew. The bed clothes to be given to Thirza Blake. Except the white counterpane is for my son Andrews wife Lucy Elliott Thirza Blake is to share all my wearing apparl to her own judgement I direct that my big Bible be given to my son Andrew Elliott, & my small Bible is for my son John Elliott. In witness whereof I the said Emily Elliott, here to this my last will & testament, set my hand this 24th day of April one thousand nine hundred and twelve. Emily her X mark Elliott Witnesses W.K.
