SUPREME COURT OF NEWFOUNDLAND

ST. JOHN'S }I do swear that I believe that Mary Jane Ellis late of
To Wit          }St. John's aforesaid, married woman deceased, died without a Will; and that I will well and truly administer all and every the Goods of the said deceased and pay her debts, so far as her Goods will extend: and that I will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of the said Goods of the deceased, and render a true account of my Administration into the Registry of the said Court, within six months from the date hereof, or when I shall be thereunto lawfully required; and that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said deceased which she died possessed of, within the jurisdiction of this Court, do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of seven hundred and fifty dollars.

or of the Honourable Judges thereof.

          The petition of Charles Ellis of St. Johns plumber and gas fitter

Humbly Sheweth

          That your petitione's late wife Mary Jane Ellis late of St. Johns died on the twenty sixth day of February last (1888) intestate
          That in the year eighteen hundred and sixty five she had effected an insurance on her life in the Royal Insurance Company and paid the last premium on the twenty second day of April Eighteen hundred and eighty seven.
          That the said Mary Jane Ellis left as other property ??? the sum of the said life insurance policy the amount of which is with profit six hundred and sixteen dollars and eighty cents and which the said Company declined to pay unless administration of said Estate be granted.
          Your petitioner humbly prays that letters of administration of his said late wifes estate be granted to him and as in duty bound will pray
