ST. JOHN'S }I do swear that I believe that William Dyer late of
To Wit          }Logy Bay in the central District fisherman deceased, died with a Will; and that I will well and truly administer all and every the Goods of the said deceased and pay his debts, so far as his Goods will extend: and that I will exhibit a true, full and perfect Inventory of the said Goods of the deceased, and render a true account of my Administration into the Registry of the said Court, within six months from the date hereof, or when I shall be thereunto lawfully required; and that the whole of the Goods, Rights, Chattels, Assets, Credits and Effects of the said deceased which he died possessed of, within the jurisdiction of this Court,  do not, according to the best of my knowledge, judgment and belief, amount to the value of two hundred and fifty dollars.

Be it Remembered That on this 28th day of March in the 51st Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, &c, and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-eight personally appeared Richard Dyer of Logy Bay in the Central District of Newfoundland, fisherman Daniel I. Dyer of the same place fisherman and James Kavanagh of same place fisherman and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to our said Lady the Queen, Her Heirs and Successors, in the penal Sum of five hundred Dollars to be had, made and levied on his Goods, Chattels and Effects, jointly and severally, if Default is made in any of the conditions following :---

Now the Condition of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden Richard Dyer as Administrator of the Estate and Effects of William Dyer late of Logy Bay fisherman deceased, do make, or cause to be made, a just, true, and perfect inventory of all and singular the Goods, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of him the said Richard Dyer as such Administrator or to the hands or possession of any other person, or persons, for him and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the 28th day of September next ensuing the date hereof; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of his death, or which at any time afterwards shall come into the hands or possession of him the said Richard Dyer or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him shall well and truly administer according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true account of said Administration, on or before the 28th day of March which will be in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-nine and afterwards from time to time as he shall be lawfully required. And all the rest, residue, and remainder of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Administration Account, the same being examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland, shall and do pay and dispose of in due course of Administration, or in such a manner as the said Court shall direct; then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue.

In the name of god this last will and testament of William Dyer of Logy Bay in the district of St. Johns Newfoundland farmer made his will on the 28 day of September 1880 and specify as following that I William Dyer being in advanced state of Life on in perfect state of health but at the same time in a sound and perfect state of mind and memory and understanding do therefour make this my last will and testament and dispose of my hous and farm and property and all that is belonging to me after my Death to my Nephew Nephew son Richard Dyer That lives with me This seven years and helped to seport me sense

To Wit      }

          Patrick Croke of Logy Bay in the Central District Farmer maketh oath and saith that on the twenty-eighth day of September A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty at Logy Bay aforesaid he, this Deponent, was present and did see William Dyer late of same place Farmer the Testator named in the paper writing hereunto annexed duly sign (by making his mark) publish and declare the said annexed paper writing as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of this Deponent and of Michael Dyer and Dennis Kavanagh the other subscribing witnesses thereto. That Deponent and said Michael Dyer and Dennis Kavanagh then signed their names to such Will as such witnesses by making their marks in the presence of the said Testator and of each other---That previously to the said Will being so signed as aforesaid, by the said Testator and the said witnesses, it was read over to, and approved of by, the said Testator in the presence of Deponent and the said Michael Dyer and Dennis Kavanagh That previously the said Wills being so signed as aforesaid the word "Nephew" was stricken out and the words "Nephew ??? son" ??? ??? on the first page of the said Will and that at the time of the said execution of the said Will the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of Deponent's knowledge and belief.

          The Petition of Richard Dyer of Logy Bay in the Island of Newfoundland fisherman -

Humbly Sheweth

That William Dyer late of Logy Bay in the Island of Newfoundland aforesaid died at Logy Bay aforesaid on or about the Nineteenth day of November A.D. 1880 having first made published and declared as and for his last Will and Testament the paper writing herewith annexed Number A. That the said William Dyer bequeathed to petitioner his land and property. That he left his family him surviving - that he was never K????.
That the said William Dyer left property Consisting of farm land and Dwelling House situate at Logy Bay and within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court of the probable value of Two hundred dollars. That he named as Executor in said will.
Petitioner prays that letters of Administration Cum Testamento annexo be granted to him and as in duty bound he will ever pray
